ABOUT ME
Gursharn Hutchins, a full time working mother to three children and grandmother to one grandchild. I have worked as an Administrator for over 30 years at Guy’s Hospital, always in a setting where we care for cancer patients.
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
Working in Guy's Cancer Centre I see patients everyday, I am genuinely touched, despite any suffering, emotional or physical pain that they may be in, they always seem to have a happy smile for everyone. I realised I could do more to help and give something back to society.

A way in which I can do this is to raise awareness and funds to donate to Guy's Cancer Centre. This will help to provide better facilities, treatment options and contribute to future research into making each patients journey a little bit more comfortable. There is a lack of resources to continue with the vital research.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses who do a fantastic job.

MY PURPOSE
Most of you will recognise Cancer ribbons, a simple loop of ribbon, that people wear to show their support for those suffering with cancer, or to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for a particular cancer type. Each ribbon has it’s own symbolic colour.

I already make jewellery, so I decided to make handmade crystal bead bracelets encompassing all cancer colours. These simple, and stunning bracelets can be worn on their own, or with others (showing your support for different cancer types). These will be customised to fit your wrist, and a choice of silver or gold plated fastenings. I have also designed a wooden bead bracelet encompassing one simple crystal bead representing the cancer colour.
MY GOALS
Why a million hopes you may ask. Each bracelet you purchase gives hope to someone suffering with cancer. My aim is that you purchase a ‘hope’ for a patient. I will be donating £1 for the sale of every bracelet. Once a million ‘hopes’ have been purchased, I will have donated a total of one million pounds to Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity to fund research in the Guy’s Cancer Centre.
MY GRATITUDE
By purchasing ‘a hope’ for a patient, we are one step closer to showing our support in raising awareness, and those vital funds that are so very much needed.
